It seems like every day there's a new beauty trend, from cool-toned makeup to Bratz doll makeup. While it's all well and good to have an ever-changing trend world, it's not sustainable, and many trends burn brightly and die quickly, fading from our memory quickly. Such is the case with a handful of makeup trends that had thousands of searches one week and none at all the next. Fresha recently analyzed average monthly searches for over 100 makeup and beauty trends worldwide to determine the most and least popular trends. You'll certainly recognize some of these jump-starting trends, but chances are you haven't thought about them in months.
Fresha's research found that there was a tie for the least popular beauty trends. All three trends resulted in zero monthly searches on Google, despite once being all the rage. Post-perfectionism, which embraces imperfection and authenticity, may seem out of fashion, but we suspect that this ethos is still alive and well.
While some blush trends continue to boom, the terms “C-Sculpt Blush” and “C-Sculpting” are not on the rise. Both land in the top five least popular trend searches. Eye shadow with undertones is also not enjoying popularity, although people used to be very particular about choosing eye shadow colors based on their natural undertone.
What's popular? The classics like red lips, smokey eyes, and glass skin. There are also some more current trends with impressive staying power, like Barbie makeup and gothic girl makeup, which continue to be highly searched for.
