How Prince Harry and Meghan Markle plan to tell their children about their royal lineage

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly in no hurry to tell their children that they are members of the royal family.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are proud parents of Prince Archie (5) and Princess Lilibet (3) – but the duo is keen to ensure that their children enjoy a normal upbringing.

“They will have those conversations in due course,” a source close to the couple told Us Weekly. “They are so well behaved. Archie is sweet and curious and playful, and Lili is lively and happy.”

Still, Archie – sixth in line to the throne, while Lilibet is seventh – will eventually learn about their royal bloodline.

Harry, 39, and the “Suits” actress, 43, live with their children in a luxurious $14 million mansion in Montecito, California. The couple reportedly make a conscious effort to keep their children out of the spotlight.

“I think every parent wants to share their child with the world, but they just can't,” the insider said.

“[Prince] William's children, for example, have much more security, even though they are identifiable. And the same cannot be said for Meghan and Harry's children.”

“They know the world wants to see [them but] I would expect them to live a more modest life until this is resolved, if that ever happens,” the source added.

Despite the couple's busy schedule, Harry and Meghan are hands-on parents, the insider adds.

“They take the children to school, pick them up and are very active and there for them all day,” the insider said.

While the Sussexes are usually tight-lipped about their private lives, Markle couldn't help but rave about her “chatty, sweet” children during her trip to Colombia with Harry earlier this month.

“Being a mother has always been my dream. And I am so happy that we have two beautiful, healthy, very talkative and sweet children,” she said, among other things. “I love being a mother.”

Markle will stay in Montecito with her children next month while Harry jets to New York for a visit coinciding with the UN General Assembly's High-Level Week and Climate Week.

Harry, 39, will be in the Big Apple to “promote a number of his sponsorships and philanthropic initiatives,” his spokesman said, adding that the father of two will be busy with commitments at African Parks, The HALO Trust, The Diana Award and Travalyst.

He will also “advance the work of the Archewell Foundation, the nonprofit organization he founded with his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex,” his spokesman told the Post.
