As newly surfaced footage shows, Lil Baby's arrest for illegal possession of weapons in Las Vegas caused trouble with the police.
In a video of the arrest, which TMZThe Atlanta rapper is seen in handcuffs outside the Encore nightclub while being searched by police.
Baby quickly becomes belligerent during the arrest, insulting the security guard who apparently alerted authorities to the gun in his possession and offering them $200,000 to help him.
The 4PF founder also insists that he has a permit for the weapon and screams: “Let me go!”, but the police continue to search his body for other weapons.
Baby then starts cursing at the arresting officers, telling them to their faces, “If I go to jail with a gun, all y’all niggas are fired, so make sure y’all give me a good look!”
He also begs a police officer to check his “balls” because he allegedly has a weapon there.
The rapper continues to scream at the police officers until he is finally led into the back seat of a police vehicle and taken to the Clark County Detention Center.
Lil Baby (real name Dominique Jones) was arrested on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, which is a felony in Nevada; however, it is unclear if any charges have been formally filed against him.
The 29-year-old was released from jail on $5,000 bail. His lawyers argue that he had a valid permit for the weapon.
“To be clear, Dominique Jones has a valid Georgia concealed carry weapon (CCW) permit,” Baby's attorneys Drew Findling and David Chesnoff said. TMZ“On his behalf, we are actively investigating the facts and circumstances of his arrest in Las Vegas.”
Nevada does not recognize concealed carry permits issued in Georgia, and police say they have video footage of Baby being handed the gun at the club.
He is due to appear in court in Las Vegas on October 1.
Lil Baby didn't seem too worried about his legal troubles, as shortly after his release he posted a picture on Instagram of himself relaxing on a private jet with a large wad of cash.
He apparently also blamed alcohol for the incident and wrote: “[tumbler glass emoji] + [baby emoji] = [skull emoji]”, adding: “Vegas 10 Me 0.”
The rapper has now deactivated his Instagram account.
Lil Baby was in Vegas to celebrate James Harden's 35th birthday. The NBA star hosted a party at the popular nightclub Drai's, which was also attended by Travis Scott, Chris Brown and Kevin Durant.
A video circulating online from that evening shows Baby giving a generous $11,000 tip to the staff at the Mexican restaurant Toca Madera.
It is not yet known whether Baby was arrested during the festivities or in the hours after the star-studded party ended.
