PlayStation Stars rewards anyone who buys Sony's big PS5 flop

The latest batch of PlayStation Stars rewards, available through the PS App, is all about getting players to check out the Concord Trophies on PS5. So far, Sony's big blockbuster live service game hasn't looked great, so it makes sense that it's trying to entice new players with some generous PlayStation Stars Concord Rewards

PlayStation Stars doubles rewards for Concord players

The latest live service title from PlayStation Studios Unity for PS5 released on Friday, August 23, 2024with Early Access starting three days earlier, on August 20, 2024. So far, things haven't been looking good for the shooter – it missed the PS5 Top 40 of our PlayStation charts by about 100 places, which doesn't paint a good picture. So it seems Sony needs some PlayStation Stars magic to pique PS5 players' interest.

PlayStation Stars Concord“Concord purchase bonus”

For this purpose we have two new Unity PlayStation Stars campaigns for subscribers, where you simply have to buy the game and play it. The first of these campaigns is simply titled “Concord purchase bonus” and offers a reward of 100 additional points for your PlayStation Stars account when you purchase a copy of the game from the PS Store.

The second campaign has the much more enthusiastic title “Concord is here!” and it prompts you to go one step further in your purchase by asking you to actually boot Unity on your PS5. Instead of hard-core loyalty points as a reward, however, this campaign will give you a digital collectible of the Northstar – the big red spaceship that our Freegunners live on and that you can see on all promotional graphics.

Both Unity-Themed campaigns for PlayStation Stars end on Thursday, October 31, 2024so make sure you buy and play the game beforehand if you have even the slightest desire to claim these rewards.

PlayStation Stars Concord“Concord is here!”

To be clear, this isn't a particularly novel strategy from Sony – they've launched PlayStation Stars campaigns to support PlayStation Studios games in the past. Last year, for example, we got a ton of PlayStation Stars Marvel's Spider-Man 2 collectibles, so it's not like Sony is just doing this to boost the dwindling PS5 player count. Unity.

Yet there is something about the lack of energy in the title of “Unity Purchase Bonus” leaves one feeling a touch of resignation when it comes to these PlayStation Stars campaigns. If you do indeed claim these rewards, be sure to check out our Concord Leaderboard to make sure you're getting the most out of your new PS5 game!
