New charges filed against husband of missing pregnant teenager, $10,000 reward offered for information – Crime Online

The Army on Tuesday filed charges against a cavalry reconnaissance soldier stationed in Hawaii whose pregnant wife remains missing.

As the Army Times reports, Private Dewayne Arthur Johnson II has been charged with making false official statements, obstruction of justice, and production and distribution of child pornography, according to the Army.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, his wife Mischa Johnson, 19 and six months pregnant, disappeared from their home at Schofield Barracks on O'ahu. The Army's Criminal Investigation Division (CID) received a missing person report on August 1.

Sources told Hawaii News Now that footage from the store's security cameras showed Johnson purchasing tools and cleaning supplies in front of the complainant.

Although police have not confirmed it, family members said in a live social media post that Johnson was dead and it was a murder case. She was due to have a baby girl, Island News reports.

Although authorities have not yet confirmed whether the latest charges are directly related to her disappearance, they stated in a press release that “the charges arose from the investigation into Johnson's disappearance.”

“This case remains under investigation,” said Michelle McCaskill, spokeswoman for the Office of Special Trial Counsel. “We are confident that law enforcement will make every effort to find Mischa, and it is entirely possible that additional charges will be filed as the case progresses.”

Johnson has been in custody since August 19 and is now awaiting a hearing under Article 32, which serves as a preliminary hearing.

Meanwhile, the search for Mischa continues.

Family members also said they received text messages from Johnson's phone after July 12, but they believed someone else sent the messages.

Johnson is described as being 5'2″ tall and weighing about 160 pounds. She has a large dragon tattoo on her back.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Army CID Pacific Field Office at (808) 208-0559 or at cid.army.mil/tips.
