Viral video: Radical Dutch MP's attack on Hillel Neuer backfires

When UN Watch's Hillel Neuer traveled to The Hague to testify before the Dutch parliament about UNRWA's terror links, radical left MPs who work closely with the Palestinian UN agency came to the hearing to attack him. “I myself have not found the facts,” declared Socialist Party MP Sarah Dobbe. But Neuer's sharp response silenced the room. The video went viral, reaching over 1.6 million views on Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.

SARAH DOBBE (SOCIALIST PARTY): Our guest makes some serious allegations for which I have not found any facts myself. And I wonder if you – these allegations are disclosed on the website, as you call it. Do you have any contact with UNRWA before you publish these allegations? In other words, do you try to verify these allegations with UNRWA before you publish the allegations?

Hillel Neuer, UN Watch: First of all, in most cases the allegations we raise are publications by UNRWA staff.

The Terrorgram report that we published in January is an open message – we did not hack – an open message to the UNRWA teachers group in Gaza, which includes thousands of UNRWA teachers. Some work full-time, some work part-time. And they celebrated the October 7 attacks.

So we didn’t publish it – She put it out there. We just linked to something that's public.

When I linked today to the Facebook page of Fathi al-Sharif, the head of the UNRWA teachers' union, I didn't make it public. His pictures – this is Fathi al-Sharif, I'm glad you asked – with a huge picture of Sheik Hassan Youssef, the founder of Hamas. There is picture after picture of him celebrating terrorists. So we're not making that public.

We don't need to contact UNRWA. Because you know what UNRWA will do. I'll tell you a secret. As soon as we call UNRWA, they will call Facebook and delete the page. Within 24 hours, the page will be gone.

They don't want us to talk about it. They don't want Dutch citizens to know that there are hundreds of thousands of UNRWA teachers – the head of the UNRWA teachers' union in Lebanon, Fathi al-Sharif, is a big supporter of Hamas. On his page. Tomorrow the page will be deleted. Of course we took screenshots of everything.

I know you want us to hand it over to UNRWA to be deleted, but let me tell you because you asked for it. We have Contacted UNRWA. And we documented it in our report, in the evidence that was presented to Colonna. We documented all the times we contacted UNRWA, because the distinguished member asked if we had contacted UNRWA.

We have contacted UNRWA.

In August 2015 we contacted UNRWA. No response. September 2015 – no response. November 2015. 2018; 2021; 2023. We continue to contact UNRWA.

I will meet with Mr. Lazzarini in Geneva. He is coming in a few weeks. And he was there; he refuses to meet with me. I will meet with him in Amman, I will meet with him in Jerusalem. These are their headquarters. I will meet with him everywhere. They refuse to meet.

So you ask me why we do not cooperate with UNRWA. And the opposite is the case. We have repeatedly turned to UNRWA.

So I invite you to ask your friends at UNRWA. Meet with us. We have hundreds of pages of evidence. And if we are wrong, let them show us how.

Thank you very much.
