COSHOCTON – Kaylob J. Butcher, 18, of Killbuck was formally charged with murder Wednesday following a fatal shooting.
According to the Coshocton County Sheriff's Office, a 911 call came in at 9:11 p.m. Monday about a man suffering from gunshot wounds in the 42000 block of County Road 19. When officers arrived at the scene, Butcher was arrested and life-saving measures were administered to the victim. The 36-year-old man's name has not yet been released. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is assisting in the crime scene investigation. Information on the motive, weapon used and number of gunshot wounds has not been released by the sheriff's office.
Responding to the scene were the Coshocton County Prosecutor's Office, Coshocton County Coroner's Office, Licking County Coroner's Office, Coshocton County EMS, and Holmes Fire District 1.
Butcher is being held without bail at the Coshocton Justice Center.
