Alpine says no decision has yet been made on the future of the French operation, as the workforce is likely to expect protests on the weekend of the Italian Grand Prix.
A group of Renault employees will go on strike on Friday before the race in Monza after the idea of stopping the production of F1 engines in France was raised.
Alpine: No decision yet, strike threatens at Renault
Alpine Racing France employees announced on Thursday that around 100 employees would arrive at the Monza circuit to protest what they believe is Alpine's decision to end its F1 activities in France.
The team is currently spread across two sites: one in Enstone (UK), where the chassis is manufactured, and the other in Viry-Châtillon (France), where the engine is manufactured.
But amid growing rumors that the team is considering abandoning its own work project and possibly becoming a Mercedes customer, Renault's workforce will go on strike in protest against this decision.
However, Alpine now claims that no decision has yet been made on the future of the team's activities in France.
“We are aware of some activities that Viry staff are planning for this weekend,” the team said. “From their communication, it is clear that these will be peaceful protests and that this will not affect the work of the team.”
“The transformation project is currently still being evaluated and Alpine management has not yet made a decision.

“The dialogue that began since the project was presented to Viry's employee representatives in July is important for Alpine's management and will continue in the coming weeks.”
The protest will take place on Friday in two locations – Monza and Viry. In Monza, two groups will spread out in the N4 and N24 grandstands and display messages calling for the retention of a French engine in F1. These supporters will wear a white T-shirt with the Alpine logo, the message #ViryOnTrack and a black armband.
Employees in the garage will “wear a recognizable symbol” to support the movement.
Meanwhile, in Viry, the “overwhelming majority” of workers will go on strike and local politicians have been invited to take part in the demonstration.
