2 teens arrested after fatal shooting of popular Kansas City Irish chef Shaun Brady

Two teenagers were arrested within an hour after popular Kansas City chef Shaun Brady was shot and killed outside his Irish restaurant in the Brookside neighborhood, a police spokesman said Thursday.

The teens were found along with the vehicle believed to have been used in the murder not far from downtown Kansas City, said Sergeant Phil DiMartino of the Kansas City Police Department.

The teens were detained pending the outcome of the investigation. Investigators are working with prosecutors to determine the charges, DiMartino said. The investigation into Brady's murder is ongoing.

Brady owned and operated Brady & Fox Restaurant & Lounge at 751 E. 63rd St. with his chef and friend Graham Farris. He was taking out the trash shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday when he encountered several people standing around a parked car, DiMartino said.

Brady was shot when the altercation between the group of suspects escalated, police said.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
