It may have been a boring summer, but Apple thinks it's “glowtime” for its iPhone 16 event. The company announced that it will hold the event to unveil new devices on September 9 at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET.
The event will take place in the Steve Jobs Theater on the Apple campus. If you can't attend in person, you can tune in here or watch the stream on the Apple website.
We'll likely see the new iPhone 16 series, which will come with new features. Reports suggest that the Pro models could have a dedicated button for taking photos, for example. A button for taking pictures? What a novel concept. But all models will get an action button, which was limited to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max last year.
Apple unveiled its AI suite, Apple Intelligence, at WWDC 2024 and introduced some features via developer betas for the 15 Pro models. These features will be available to consumers with the public release of iOS 18. In addition, Apple may offer some Apple Intelligence-based features exclusively for the iPhone 16 lineup.
The company may also launch the Apple Watch 10 with a larger screen and a new powerful chip. Two new AirPods could also be released.
As always, TechCrunch will be covering the event and bringing you the latest news.
