Memorial for the victims of suspected serial killer Herb Baumeister

WESTFIELD – A memorial to the victims of suspected serial killer Herb Baumeister was dedicated this morning at Hamilton Memorial Park Cemetery.

Thursday's revelation came two years after Hamilton County Coroner Jeff Jellison reopened the case in hopes of identifying additional remains from the fragments originally found on Baumeister's property. Those remains had been sitting in the University of Indianapolis lab for nearly 30 years.

The memorial will feature the names of the nine men whose remains were identified. Behind the memorial there will be a place where the cremated remains of the victims can be interred.

Jellison says the remains of at least 13 men were recovered, but only nine have been identified.

Anyone who believes they may be related to a missing person in connection with the Baumeister case should contact the coroner's office at 317-770-4415 or complete the form below.
