MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WPDE) — An arrest was made in connection with a missing person and murder case in spring 2022.
Sheridan Dirk Fogle, 54, of Orangeburg, is charged with murder. An arrest warrant was served around 7:30 a.m. Thursday in the 1000 block of Austin Street in Orangeburg.

The warrant stemmed from the missing person case and incident that occurred on May 11, 2022 in the 600 block of 1st Avenue South in Myrtle Beach. According to the original report, the victim had lived with the perpetrator, who was later identified as Fogle.
According to MBPD, further investigation revealed that, based on statements from her neighbors, there was reason to believe that she may have been buried near the house, in the backyard under a fire pit.
On June 12, investigators obtained a search warrant for the property in question. During the search, police said, the victim's remains were found and identified.
The identity of the victim has not yet been disclosed.
