One of the best travel credit cards offers an increased sign-up bonus worth nearly $1,000 toward flights, hotels, and more—but it expires in a few days.
Through Monday, September 9, the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card is offering 75,000 bonus miles and a $250 Capital One Travel credit when you spend $4,000 within the first three months of account opening. There is a $95 annual fee that will be charged to your statement within the first billing cycle, but this ongoing cost is justified given the long list of benefits.
First off, Capital One miles offer a number of flexible redemption options for travel, making this card a clear favorite. It's possible to use miles through the issuer's travel portal to book flights, hotels and rental cars, or use miles as statement credit toward eligible travel purchases made with the card within 90 days. Each Capital One mile is worth one penny, meaning 75,000 miles are worth $750 toward travel expenses.
Alternatively, Capital One miles can be transferred to over 15 airline and hotel loyalty programs. In most cases, miles transfer at a 1:1 ratio and can be used for award travel with popular loyalty programs such as British Airways Executive Club or Air France-KLM Flying Blue.
As part of the sign-up bonus, the $250 travel credit can be used to offset even more travel expenses. Although it's only valid for one year, cardholders can easily redeem this credit at checkout on the Capital One travel portal.

The Capital One Venture card is also very popular because, among other benefits, it offers 5x miles on hotels, vacation rentals and car rentals with Capital One Travel, 2x miles on all other purchases, and reimburses the Global Entry or TSA PreCheck application fee every four years.
