The visitors were welcomed by the three managing directors Jörg Kauschat, Axel Kirstein and Alexander Langner. After an exchange on current national and European political issues, an extensive tour of the factory was scheduled, during which all participants were able to find out more about production on site.

Walsmann stressed how important direct cooperation at the municipal level and with the local state parliamentarian is in order to be able to react to current developments as quickly as possible. The fact that European funds are well invested in infrastructure is also evident in Sondershausen.
In Germany, ISOPLUS employs over 700 people and manufactures pipes at its Sondershausen site (approx. 500 employees) that are used throughout Europe in district heating supplies. In 2023 alone, over 1,100 km of pipes were manufactured at the site there. But problems that many companies are currently struggling with, such as bureaucracy, reporting obligations, a shortage of skilled workers and rising energy costs, were also addressed.
European MP Marion Walsmann is satisfied: “This is where Thuringian know-how and hard work come together – and that is why ISOPLUS is also the European market leader in the field of pre-insulated pipe systems.” For us in Brussels, the tasks are clear: continue to reduce bureaucracy and do everything we can to better support our domestic industry. I am delighted that we Thuringians are at the forefront with this innovative company!”
