Washington. The former president is showing his worst side. Not for the first time – but advisers fear he has gone too far.
For decades, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has faced the Accusation of sexism However, with the recent insult to his Democratic opponent Kamala Harris, Trump has gone too far, even in the opinion of many Republicans. It is still unclear whether this will damage his chances of winning the election on November 5. What seems certain is that the criticism that many women have long leveled at the former president is justified.
In a post on his Social media site “Truth Social” the Republican left even advisers speechless. He mocked how “blowjobs had different effects on the careers of Harris and Hill Clinton.” No doubt he was referring to the relationship that then-President Bill Clinton had with his intern Monica Lewinsky.
But also on an affair that Harris had with the mayor of San Francisco is said to have had.
“If only he could focus on the policy issues!” complained Republican strategist Scott Jennings. “But there are so many, from inflation to the immigration crisis to President Biden and Harris' failed foreign policy.” Other Republicans are also despairing that their top candidate is his own worst enemy.

Trump niece: “My uncle is sick”
Leading Democrats and members of the Trump clan see things differently. For example, his niece, Mary Trump: “My uncle is simply sick, and this sexism is another outgrowth of his problems.” Psychologists see it similarly. They suspect a connection between Trump's tendency to talk about women as sex objects and his Nazism.
It began during the early nineties, when the real estate entrepreneur had an affair with the young American Marla Maples At the time, he was still married to Czech skier Ivana. She is the mother of Trump's eldest sons Don Junior, Eric and Ivanka. But the businessman was not interested in the damage he was causing to his family with his extramarital affair.
Instead, he contacted the editor-in-chief of a conservative tabloid with whom Trump was good friends. Soon after, a photo of Trump and his lover made the front page. The headline was a supposed quote from the blonde from Georgia: “The best sex I've ever had.”
Only later did it emerge that this was probably fictional quote was agreed upon with the newspaper and Trump's goal was to have a reputation as a great lover.
Trump started a long series of love affairs
But the joke seemed harmless compared to what followed in later years. Trump maintained close contact with the convicted sex offender for a long time. Jeffrey EpsteinHe was convicted of child prostitution and human trafficking in 2008. Eleven years later, Epstein took his own life in prison. Nevertheless, numerous videos and photos are circulating of parties at which Trump and the sex offender are seen having fun while watching scantily clad teenagers and young women dancing.
Things got really serious in 1996. Author E Jean Carroll accused Trump of assaulting her in a New York department store cloakroom. Over 20 years later, a civil court in New York sentenced the former president to a fine of $5 million.

The porn actress Stormy Danielswith whom Trump had an affair 18 years ago, when his third wife Melania was at home with their infant Baron, tells a different story. According to her, the sexual intercourse with the Republican was consensual. But they only agreed to it because she promised herself professional advantages and cash payments. As is well known, Trump tried to sweep the affair under the carpet shortly before the election by paying Daniels $130,000 in hush money.
One sentence shows Trump’s broader view of women
Apart from the recent, tasteless insults from Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton, then the most prominent derailment occurred in 2006. At that time, the real estate tycoon and the talk show host Billy Bush, a nephew of the former president, were together on a luxury bus. The bus took the two to a studio where an episode of Bush's series “Access Hollywood” with Trump as the star guest was to be taped.
Towards the end of the bus trip, the two men talked about their Relationship to women. The businessman, who did not know that his statements were being recorded, then said quite unashamedly: “When you're a star, you can do whatever you want with a woman, including touching her genitals.” And he did not rule out the possibility that he would “just start kissing” one of Bush's attractive, young colleagues.
However, the recording was not made until ten years later, one month before the Constituency electionWhen the Washington Post reported on this, analysts said that Trump's career as a politician was dead. But four weeks later he won sensationally against Hillary Clinton. By then it was clear that sexism would be socially acceptable under the new president.
“Sexism is part of everyday life for Trump”
Although they have been working with various advisors to the former President Repeated attempts to downplay and trivialize his statements and behavior. Karoline Leavitt, spokeswoman for his current presidential campaign, blames the media. “President Trump is sensitive, understanding and helpful towards women. He is completely different from how he is portrayed in the media.”

It simply overlooks the fact that the incidents are not based on media reports, but on factually irrefutable evidence, from documents and affidavits to video recordings and court rulings.
A former Trump advisor, who did not want to be quoted by name, sees things much more critically. “Not only his statements, but above all his behavior, prove that sexism is part of everyday life for President Trump.” So far, everything has been Trump like water dripping off a Teflon pan.

“The recent sexist insults from Harris “But it could have an impact in November, because he is desperately dependent on female voters,” fears the Republican advisor. The Vice President herself, however, reacted very calmly to the 45th President's latest post. “He has simply lost his mind,” said Harris.
