Bosch is making e-biking even smarter. With the new update for the Smart System, range anxiety is a thing of the past. The dynamic range display realistically shows how far you can still go at any time. You can also record and analyze your tours in detail. The eBike Flow app from Bosch allows riders to change the e-bike's mode, check the location and keep a close eye on the battery. Bosch is also using artificial intelligence in the latest update of the app. In the future, this should help riders to always arrive at their destination with sufficient charge and not have to continue on the way without the support of the motor. In addition to the “Range Control”, there is also a new mode and an electric switching solution that takes over the gear shifting automatically. What’s new in the eBike Flow app
Range control: The Range Control function allows the driver to specify the battery level he wants to arrive at his destination with before the trip. The system then selects the route and mode so that the desired charge is maintained at the destination. Depending on this, the motor provides full or only minimal support during the trip and automatically adjusts during the trip to meet the target. For an accurate calculation, the artificial intelligence uses the system weight, the altitude profile and the individual driving behavior of previous trips. The more data is available, the more accurately the AI can maintain the battery level at the destination.
eShift: The electric shifting solution offers drivers greater driving comfort. Because the motor support is suspended for a fraction of a second during automatic shifting, gear changes are smoother and quieter. According to Bosch, the eShift function also reduces material wear on the drive.
Purion 200: Using the eBike Flow app, users can now also adapt the display of the Purion 200 on-board computer to their needs. 30 pieces of information and customizable displays are available here.
ABS statistics: Since the update, activity tracking offers additional information on ABS usage. Drivers can see how often they braked during their last trip and how often the ABS was used.
CO2 savings: In addition to information about the route, performance, climb and calories burned, the eBike Flow app now also provides information about the CO2 savings for each ride. The value indicates how many CO2 emissions were saved compared to a car journey for the same distance.
Eco+ mode: In addition to the new functions, Bosch is also introducing a completely new mode. The Eco+ mode increases the range of the battery. The motor only switches on when an individually adjustable activation threshold is exceeded.
