Rape and murder of doctor in Calcutta: Sanjay Roy, the main accused in the Kolkata doctor's rape and murder case, who is currently lodged in the Presidency Correctional Home, has reportedly expressed dissatisfaction with the food provided in the prison.
Sanjay Roy was upset with the simple ‘roti sabzi’ dish and demanded to be served egg chowmein instead. News18 was reported citing unnamed sources.
HT could not independently verify the message.
According to prison rules, all inmates must eat the same food, which is prepared for everyone, so his request was rejected.
Jail sources told the news portal that Sanjay Roy became restless when he was served the usual roti and vegetables, but after a reprimand by the jail staff, he finally agreed to eat the food.
Earlier, after being shifted from CBI custody to the reformatory home, Sanjay Roy had asked for more sleep and was noticed muttering to himself. However, after a few days, he seemed to return to his normal state, News18 added.
So far, the investigation into the rape and murder of the Calcutta doctor has led to only one arrest: Sanjoy Roy, a volunteer with the Calcutta police, who is currently in custody.
