Firmware updates for the OM System OM-1 and OM-1 Mark II | News | dkamera.de

The new versions improve the autofocus and the high-res function

OM Digital Solutions has released new firmware updates for two mirrorless system cameras. This includes a firmware update for the former mirrorless flagship OM System OM-1. Its availability was announced by OM Digital Solutions in the spring and expands the functionality of the OM-1 to include several features from the OM-1 Mark II presented at the time.

The new features of the OM-1 after installing firmware 1.7 include improved autofocus in “All-Target” mode. According to OM Digital Solutions, the camera's autofocus performance is improved by an optimized focus position when using both the S-AF mode and the C-AF mode.

The update also brings improvements in operation: thanks to the new firmware, the camera's delete button can now also be used to access the menu. This is particularly helpful for users when using the camera one-handed. The OM System OM-1 is supposed to work better beyond the high-res function. The composition algorithm has been revised for this purpose. The last innovation in the firmware update is that it promises improved operational stability.

OM Digital Solutions has released update 1.2 for the OM System OM-1 Mark II. As with the OM-1, this is intended to increase operational stability and enable better high-res recordings through an optimized composition algorithm.

Important: Please ensure that the battery is fully charged for each firmware update or use the power adapter. When updating the firmware, be sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions for the firmware update exactly. If an error occurs when installing the new firmware and the digital camera then no longer functions, the manufacturer may not accept any responsibility (even if you have followed all the rules) and will not usually provide a (free) replacement or free repair. This generally applies to firmware updates across all manufacturers, even if they are publicly available. If you do not want to carry out a firmware update yourself, you can have the update service carried out by a dealer or an authorized service center of the respective manufacturer.
