VFX artists don't have an easy job. It's no secret that working conditions in Hollywood are sometimes an absolute disaster. And if the immense crunch, mediocre pay and psychological stress weren't bad enough, there's also the criticism from many fan communities.
The special effects of brand new Hollywood productions are often criticized. It is all the more surprising that the upcoming Fantastic Four film might want to avoid such a scenario. The first photo of Ben Grimm in the role of “The Thing” seems to indicate this.
When will Fantastic Four be in theaters?
Am July 24, 2025 The cinema release of Fantastic Four is planned for Germany. This is the third time that the filmmakers have attempted to successfully establish the brand in cinemas. A number of Hollywood stars have been brought on board for this venture, including Pedro Pascal.
The film was last noticed at the D23. A costume unveiling had already sparked a lot of discussion online. A first trailer on which such debates could be based is still missing. But that doesn't stop resourceful amateur photographers from taking a closer look at the filming.

Ben Grimm will be seen in the role of “The Thing” in the next Fantastic Four. According to the first video footage, the actor appears to be running around on set wearing an actual costume for the character. How that will look in the finished film is, of course, a completely different question.
At least there is hope that they will try to work with practical effects. Perhaps this will result in a long-term comeback on the big screen. We should find out by next summer at the latest what qualities the Fantastic Four's return to the cinema will be like.
