A Fortnite source has announced a GTA-like weapon wheel for the game. The update is expected to be released in October-December.

Hamburg – Shiina, a credible Fortnite leaker, has revealed an upcoming update for Fortnite's UI. According to him, Epic Games' battle royale shooter will soon introduce a weapon wheel à la GTA. In addition, improved HUD and visualized audio options will be made available at the same time.

The community is excited about the new Fortnite UI

UI was controversial: Fortnite's user interface has been a point of contention among fans for some time. It was criticized as confusing and difficult to use, especially after the 30.30 update. What bothers players most is that the UI favors Fortnite Creative Mode rather than the actual game. The announcements for the new UI were therefore received positively by the majority of players, who compared the weapon wheel to that of GTA 5. According to the leak, the UI system is supposed to be individually customizable.

Reactions to the Fortnite update

The leak is well received: The comments under Shiina's post are euphoric and users are looking forward to the update. Here are some of the best responses:

  • “Absolutely huge win for us creators!!! Especially the UI system!”
  • “The custom UI system sounds great. I'm looking forward to seeing it!”
  • GTA 6 in Fortnite before GTA 6.”

More changes planned in Fortnite

HUD, Sound and Items: The other new features were somewhat overlooked in Shiina's post, as most people were only focused on the new UI. The updates sound pretty good, though. Among other things, the HUD options are to be greatly improved. This means that players will have better control over which elements are displayed in the game and in what size. The visualization of sounds will also be able to be customized, which is particularly beneficial for people with hearing impairments. Shiina also talks about the introduction of the long-awaited “Custom Game Items”.

With the updates, Epic Games is responding to the feedback from the community and will hopefully soon deliver the expected quality of life improvements. These may soon take you on a nostalgic journey: OG Chapter 2 hinted at by Fortnite leaks.
