At a wedding reception in Wuppertal, the situation escalated when police officers came into conflict with unruly guests. Five officers suffered minor injuries after being hit, kicked and even bitten. The officers were called after an argument among the guests, during which glasses and bottles were being swung.
Upon their arrival, officers were met with a hostile reception from the guests, a source said. There were even reports of one guest pulling out a kitchen knife, but luckily no one was hurt. The man eventually dropped the knife and it fell to the floor. The unruly guests were eventually subdued with stun guns and batons.
Three young men aged between 22 and 24 were arrested for resisting arrest and continuing to attack the officers. In addition, the personal details of 40 guests were recorded and they were given instructions. Fortunately, the injured officers were able to carry out their duties. Despite the officers' efforts to maintain order, the wedding reception turned into a crime scene. The unruly behavior led to several charges of assault against the unruly guests.
