The football professional suffers a gunshot wound during an attempted robbery in San Francisco.
NFL rookie Ricky Pearsall of the San Francisco 49ers was shot during an attempted robbery. “He suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and is in serious but stable condition,” his team said.
According to police, the attack on the wide receiver, the 49ers' first-round pick in this year's draft, took place on Saturday afternoon in downtown San Francisco. The arrested 17-year-old suspect was also injured in the altercation and taken to the hospital.
The police were “immediately on the scene and the shooter was arrested. My thoughts are with Ricky and his family,” wrote Mayor London Breed on the X network. Pearsall (23), who has already been questioned by the police, was drafted 31st by the Niners in April. Before that, he had last played for the University of Florida.
