St. Wendel – In St. Wendel, there was a violent incident early on Saturday evening, August 31st, in which a 16-year-old youth attacked and injured two people of the same age. The police, alerted by an emergency call, immediately dispatched several patrols.
The incident began at around 6:45 p.m. with a loud argument between the youths at St. Wendel train station. The conflict quickly escalated when the alleged attacker grabbed his two opponents and dragged them into a nearby underpass. There, the youth is said to have beaten them both. But that's not all: During the attack, he is said to have stolen one of the victims' cell phones before fleeing.
However, the police were able to quickly arrest the suspect, who comes from the municipality of Tholey, in the immediate vicinity of the crime scene. Both victims suffered minor injuries and also came from the region, one from St. Wendel, the other also from Tholey.
After his arrest, the youth was questioned by the police in the company of his parents. He is now facing an investigation for assault and theft. Initial findings indicate that the argument was sparked by the two victims' contact with the alleged perpetrator's sister, which apparently sparked the 16-year-old's anger.
