One man killed in East Hills shooting Sunday morning

According to Pittsburgh police, a man died in a shooting in Pittsburgh's East Hills neighborhood early Sunday morning.

Police were notified of the shooting, which occurred in the 8000 block of Bennett Street, by three ShotSpotter alerts totaling 28 shots fired, police said.

A man with two gunshot wounds to the head was taken by Pittsburgh EMS to a local hospital in critical condition. He died shortly thereafter, police said.

Another man was taken to a local hospital in stable condition with a gunshot wound around 4:45 a.m. Police believe he was injured in the shooting on Bennett Street.

Officers from the city's mobile crime squad examined evidence at the scene, including several shell casings and video footage. Detectives from the violent crimes unit are also investigating.
