They say officers arrested a man in his twenties from Brampton shortly before midnight that same day.

According to police, the suspect was held in custody pending a bail hearing and was charged with premeditated murder.

At the request of the family, the police did not disclose the identity of the dead man.

They say that while the motive for the shooting is still under investigation, they are convinced that it relates only to the people involved and was not random.
