Oil trail from Hochstetten-Dhaun to the Kirn quarry; witnesses wanted!
Hochstetten-Dhaun, Binger Landstrasse (ots) –
On September 1st, 2024 at around 4:00 p.m., the Kirn police were informed of a long oil trail. An investigation revealed that the oil trail started on the premises of a gas station in Hochstetten-Dhaun. From there it stretched along the Binger Landstraße (L183) to the Kirn quarry. The trail could not be followed any further. The road maintenance department and an oil removal company had to be notified to clean the road. The search for the person responsible is ongoing. The video recordings from the gas station are still being evaluated.

Crime statistics on burglary in the district of Bad Kreuznach
Easier theft can be punished under German law with up to five years in prison. In the case of serious theft, the maximum sentence rises to ten years. This includes, for example, gang theft or burglary. Carrying a weapon can also lead to a higher sentence.
In 2022, there were around 1.8 million thefts in Germany. That is 20.0 percent more than the year before.
Around three out of ten thefts were solved in 2022. However, there are clear differences depending on the type of theft. As soon as money is stolen, only 7.9 percent of cases are solved, while for shoplifting the figure is 89.8 percent. However, not all cases are reported. Especially in the case of shoplifting, often only those cases are reported in which the thief has already been caught.
