To be able to watch all Schalke games of the 2024/25 season live, S04 fans only need a Sky subscription. Several of the “Knappen” games will also be shown on free TV. A DAZN subscription is not required.

With the Sky subscription, Schalke 04 fans can watch every competitive game of the new season. The pay-TV broadcaster retains the rights to all games in the 2nd Bundesliga, regardless of whether they take place on a Friday evening, Saturday or Sunday.

Other TV stations have at least acquired small rights packages for the 2nd Bundesliga. Sat.1, for example, is allowed to show the season opener and the two relegation games on free TV. Unlike last year, Schalke 04 will not open the 2nd Bundesliga this year. That honor goes to 1. FC Köln and HSV (2 August, 8.30 p.m.).

Sport1 has an even larger rights package. The sports channel shows the respective second division top game on Saturday evening (kick-off time 8.30 p.m.) live on free TV. This affected Schalke 04 on the first match day in the opening match against Eintracht Braunschweig in the Veltins Arena.

If you missed a game, there are various ways to watch highlights from the 2nd Bundesliga. On Friday evening, ARD shows highlights on the One channel. On Saturday evening, the Sportschau is broadcast as usual on Das Erste, and ZDF is also allowed to show the best scenes later in the “Sportstudio”. On Sundays, Sport1 retains the rights for the highlights of the Friday and Saturday games.
