Review of the Nest Smart Learning Thermostat, Sonos app issues and Wi-Fi problems

In this episode of the HomeKit Insider podcast, we test the brand new fourth-generation Nest Learning Thermostat and answer some questions from our listeners.

In this week's news, the CEO of Sonos said that while they have hopes of re-releasing their old app, too many changes have already been made and it will ultimately create more problems than it solves.

It's the latest chapter in their ongoing saga of the primary Sonos app having issues. It's been plagued with problems and Sonos has been slowly fixing them all.

We also had a listener question from Michael this week. He wanted to know if there was anything he could do about devices that were having trouble communicating between the 2.4 and 5 GHz networks.

We'll go over some troubleshooting options you can try. This is a fairly common smart home problem since most smart devices only support the 2.4GHz band.

The majority of the episode is dedicated to the new Nest Learning Thermostat Gen 4. We start by explaining the problematic insulation process.

After installation, we'll talk about the design, functionality, and how to add it to the Home app via Matter.
