A reward is currently being offered for information regarding a dog attack near Second Beach in Stanley Park earlier this month.
The owner of a small dog who was allegedly bitten to death by a larger dog is offering cash to anyone who can help him identify the owner of the larger dog.
The attack occurred on August 5 at around 5:30 p.m. Although family and passersby took footage and photographs after the attack, the owner of the larger dog fled the scene.
It is not clear how much the reward is worth, but an online Fundraising campaign “Justice for Sky” has a goal of $10,000 to cover the reward and legal fees.
“The family, consisting of three young children, witnessed the brutal attack and ended up with Sky lying lifeless after the larger dog finally released her. No one should ever have to experience such trauma, let alone children,” the fundraiser organizer said.
The family is now pushing for the city to change its “laws and regulations to better protect civilians from possible future dog attacks, which are 100% preventable.”
As of early Monday morning, the GoFundMe campaign had raised just over $4,300.
